One killed in Israeli airstrike on al-Khiam, southern Lebanon

A person was killed on Saturday after an Israeli drone strike hit a residential home in al-Khiam in southern Lebanon, according to a statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Concurrently, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that the attack involved two missiles launched by an Israeli drone targeting the vicinity of al-Khiam, escalating tensions along the southern Lebanese border. This comes just one day after one Lebanese citizen was killed, and five others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on the village of Nmairiyeh in South Lebanon. An Israeli drone reportedly struck a vehicle moving between Namiriyeh and al-Sharqiya in the south of Lebanon with more than one missile, Al Mayadeen's correspondent noted. Another drone strike targeted a moving vehicle in the southern Lebanese village of Yater as well. Our correspondent in South Lebanon reported on Friday that an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on a pick-up vehicle before it detonated in the border village of Kfar Kila, while another drone dropped a bomb on the al-Dhahira village. Al Mayadeen's correspondent also revealed that an Israeli infantry force invaded the southern border and detonated a single room built 800 meters into Lebanese territory. One person was martyred on Thursday and two others were wounded after an Israeli drone struck a motorcycle in the town of al-Mansouri, in the Tyre District, South Lebanon, according to a statement by the country's Ministry of Health. An Israeli drone also struck commercial shops in Yuhmur al-Shaqif, a southern town in Lebanon's Nabatieh District, firing two missiles at the area. This comes as Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the ceasefire, persisting in their attacks by targeting villages and towns in South Lebanon and the Bekaa region, as well as the Southern Suburb of Beirut, while still occupying five strategic points in the south. Israeli strike on south Lebanon kills one: ministry

BEIRUT: An Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon on Friday (July 11) killed one person, the Lebanese health ministry reported, with Israel saying it had targeted a man accused of helping smuggle weapons from Iran. The attack was the latest in Lebanon despite a months-long ceasefire between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah there. In a statement, the health ministry said that an "Israeli enemy" drone strike on a car near al-Numairiya, in Nabatiyeh district, killed one person and wounded five others. The Israeli military later said it had killed Mohammad Shoaib, whom it accused of having aided in the smuggling of weapons to Lebanon and the occupied West Bank. REGULAR ISRAEL STRIKES ON LEBANON Israel has kept up regular strikes in Lebanon, particularly in the south, since a November 27 ceasefire meant to end over a year of hostilities with Hezbollah that left the group severely weakened. Under the agreement, Hezbollah was to pull its fighters back north of the Litani River, around 30 kilometres (20 miles) from the border with Israel, leaving the Lebanese army and United Nations peacekeepers as the only armed parties in the area. The ceasefire requires Israel to fully withdraw its troops, but it has kept them in five locations in south Lebanon that it deems strategic.

Israeli army claims killing Hezbollah's coastal artillery commander in South Lebanon

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed Thursday that Israeli forces killed Muhammad Jamal Murad, identified as Hezbollah's artillery commander in the coastal sector, in an airstrike earlier in the day on the town of Mansouri in southern Lebanon. In a post on X, Adraee wrote: "The Israeli army attacked earlier today in the area of Mansouri, southern Lebanon, and eliminated Muhammad Jamal Murad, who served as the commander of artillery in the coastal sector of Hezbollah.'' He added: ''Murad was responsible for numerous rocket attacks toward the State of Israel during the war and had made several attempts in recent months to rebuild Hezbollah's artillery capabilities in the coastal area.'' Adraee concluded: ''Murad's activities posed a threat to the security of the State of Israel and its citizens, and were a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon. The Israeli army will continue to operate to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel.'

Israeli drone kills one in south Lebanon, tensions rise between UNIFIL, residents

A man was killed Thursday in an Israeli drone strike on southern Lebanon, the health ministry said, after Israel announced it was carrying out 'special, targeted operations' against Hezbollah. Separately, tension was reported on Thursday between residents and the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. Despite a November truce that ended a war between Israel and Hezbollah, Israel has kept up its strikes on Lebanon, targeting the group's sites and operatives but also occasionally members of their Palestinian ally Hamas. 'One man was killed and two others wounded in an Israeli enemy drone strike that targeted a motorcycle in the village of Mansouri' near the coastal city of Tyre, the ministry said. On Tuesday, a drone strike hit a car in a nearby village, killing one person. Israel's military said it had 'eliminated' a Hezbollah member involved in developing the Iran-backed group's artillery capabilities in the south. Three others, including a Palestinian Hamas member allied with Hezbollah, were killed in a separate strike on northern Lebanon that same day. On Wednesday, the Israeli military said its troops entered Lebanon to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure near the Israeli border. The November 27 ceasefire sought to end more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah, including two months of all-out war that left the group severely weakened. Under the ceasefire deal, Hezbollah was to pull its fighters back north of the Litani river, about 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the Israeli border, leaving the Lebanese army and United Nations peacekeepers as the only armed parties in the region. Israel was required to fully withdraw its troops from the country but has kept them in five places it deems strategic. On Thursday, a patrol of the UN Interim Forces in Lebanon was blocked and pelted with stones by 'several individuals in civilian clothes' in the southern village of Wadi Jilu, UNIFIL said. 'The LAF arrived at the scene and the situation was brought under control,' UNIFIL spokesman Andrea Tenenti said in a statement, referring to the Lebanese Armed Forces. In recent weeks, several incidents have seen civilians in Hezbollah strongholds confront UNIFIL patrols. The mission is part of an international body tasked with monitoring the ceasefire agreement.
